Inspired by the founder’s personal experience of navigating adulthood without a strong foundation in saving, intentional spending, investing, and financial planning, the program was created to ensure girls receive the knowledge and guidance they need to make wise financial decisions early in life.

Through monthly sessions at Sacramento State, with SAFE Credit Union serving as an instructional partner, Zion Girls learn how to budget, save for college, build credit, spend wisely, invest, and begin developing a personal financial portfolio for their future.

Grounded in Zion Girls’ 8 Pillars of PROGRESS, Crowned & Capable combines financial literacy with leadership development, college and career readiness, mentorship, and personal growth.

The goal is bigger than learning about money. It is about equipping girls with the knowledge, confidence, and decision-making skills to build financially free futures—and create a new financial legacy for generations to come.
